Technical Specifications
At acousti-art, we don’t just print beautiful visuals—we engineer better-sounding spaces. Our panels are built from three distinct layers, combining architectural-grade materials with advanced sound-dampening technology.
Here is exactly what goes into every acousti-art panel.
The Frame: 2” Extruded Aluminum
The foundation of our panels is a sleek, lightweight, and highly durable aluminum frame designed to sit flush against your wall.
Profile Depth: 2 inches
Material: Architectural-grade extruded aluminum
Durability: Rigid construction that prevents bowing or warping, even on our largest panoramic formats
Weight: Exceptionally lightweight for easy handling and secure wall mounting
The Visuals: Premium SEG Fabric Graphics
We use SEG (Silicone Edge Graphic) technology. A thin silicone band is sewn directly into the edge of the fabric, which tucks seamlessly into the perimeter of the aluminum frame.
Tensioned Perfection: The SEG system stretches the fabric drum-tight across the frame, eliminating wrinkles, sagging, and glare.
Acoustically Transparent: The fabric is woven to allow sound waves to pass directly through the art and into the dampening core, rather than bouncing off the surface.
Vibrant & Colorfast: High-resolution dye-sublimation printing ensures deep blacks, vivid colors, and crisp details.
Easily Interchangeable: Redecorating? Simply pull the fabric tag to remove the current art and press a new SEG graphic into the frame channel in seconds.
The Core: 1” Sound-Dampening Foam
Hidden directly behind the fabric is the engine of our acoustic performance: a high-density acoustic core designed to absorb ambient noise and eliminate echo.
Thickness: 1-inch acoustic foam core
Performance: Specifically engineered to trap mid-to-high frequency sound waves (like voices, clattering dishes, and sharp echoes).
Air Gap Advantage: Because the frame is 2” deep and the foam is 1” thick, a 1-inch air gap is created behind the foam. This air cavity naturally traps lower frequencies, significantly boosting the overall sound absorption of the panel.
Application: Ideal for noisy restaurants, echoing conference rooms, home theaters, cafeterias, and any crowded areas.
Installation & Mounting
Hanging an acousti-art panel is as straightforward as hanging a heavy mirror or large painting.
Mounting Hardware: Includes a heavy-duty wall bracket (cleat system) that securely locks the aluminum frame flush to the wall.
Wall Impact: Requires minimal drilling and hardware, preserving the integrity of your drywall.
Orientation: Custom frames can be manufactured for both portrait and landscape orientations.
